Twitter vs. Pownce. Given that Kevin Rose is profiled in this month’s issue of Inc. I was curious to see how one of his companies (Pownce) compared to its (sort of) competitor (twitter).
I know this isn’t perfectly accurate as most users don’t visit either Pownce or twitter, but this is at least a gauge. And, as a gauge it shows that Pownce is stagnant while twitter continues to grow. So the answer seems to be that twitter is crushing pownce (good thing K. Rose still has Digg to rely on).
My next question is how twitter and facebook will coexist? The news feed and updates seem to be competing directly with twitter (except that facebook has at least 10x as many users). More on this topic later, and in the meantime, let me know if you have any thoughts.
