Why I no longer use Netvibes

I used to love Netvibes, but recently I have been more and more frustrated by its performance and about 2 weeks ago I quit using it.  I don’t miss it at all.

Here’s why:

—It was basically filled with RSS feeds, which didn’t allow me to quickly read articles (like Google Reader), but instead I had to open a new tab to read.

—I tried using the widgets (to check my email, stock quotes, weather, etc), but they just weren’t that useful and they frequently didn’t work.

—It was hard to quickly scan the information for stories I was interested in because links aren’t always descriptive enough.

—The mobile application isn’t any good as it just lists the content on my page in order, which isn’t optimized for easily scanning on a mobile screen.

—It was too easy for my page to get cluttered with too many websites / widgets to follow because it doesn’t provide data on what I read (like Google Reader) which allows me to trim back on unread feeds.

So now I use Google Reader and I’m very happy with how it has optimized my daily intake of web-information.  How about all of you?
