workplace weirdness
Why do people bring their laptop, a blackberry and a notebook to every meeting? Isn’t that completely redundant?
Perhaps the reason is because people feel more secure having everything with them or perhaps most people only pay attention 1/4 of the time so this way they have other things (toys) to distract them.
Either way, it seems silly to me as 1. you don’t need that much stuff and 2. if carrying that much stuff helps to distract people, then they might as well not go to the meeting in the first place.
