a thought about advertising

What if advertising were about helping me find what I wanted, not telling me what I should want? That would be radical. If my attention is the most valuable thing, than advertising agencies should be more concerned with my needs, not those of their paying clients. My attention would be payment.

This is not the case because we haven’t figured out how to get paid for this type of service. So instead we blanket the media with our messages hoping it impacts 1 out of 10,000.
